It’s officially the end of January this week, and we at Curiocity are pretty jazzed about it. There are a couple of festivals going on, but the focus of the week seems to be some solid concerts. No complaints here!
Here are our top things to do this week in Vancouver.

Take advantage of Dine Out Vancouver

Dine Out Vancouver is now in full swing. There are 300 plus restaurants participating, as well as one-off events to attend. Our favourite, of course, is Street Food City, where some of the best food trucks in Vancouver come together. We also put out our favourite restaurants at $25, $35 and $45 price points.

When: Now until February 3

Support the performing arts

PuSh festival has returned to Vancouver, offering a wide variety of shows, talks, and other activities. This weekend is no exception, there are plays, one person performances, movies and talks all available.

When: Now until February 3
Where: Various locations around the city

Investigate Interpol

There are still some tickets left for the New York City band, and you’re lying to yourself if you don’t enjoy a few of their songs (PDA is a classic of the early 2000s). They’re also playing at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, which is definitely one of the best venues in the city.

When: Thursday, January 31, doors at 8PM
Where: Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Tickets: Starting at $48.50, get them here

Head to Neverland with MØ

In addition to collaborations with some of the biggest names in electronic music, this Danish-born singer has released two great albums. The most recent, Forever Neverland, is a meditation of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, blending somber lyrics with euphoric production.

When: Wednesday, January 30, doors at 8 PM
Where: Commodore Ballroom
Tickets: $44.75 with tax, get them here

Celebrate the Lunar New Year

There is a variety of events that are ongoing between now and February 5, when the Lunar New Year actually happens. Visit temples, get involved in the community, or go support local artists around the city.

Check out the End of the Road with KISS

So you’re feeling uptight on a Thursday night? Get up and get down to Rogers Arena to watch (what is probably the last) KISS concert in Vancouver. While not our favourite band, KISS is probably one of the biggest names in rock, for better or worse.

When: Thursday, January 31, doors at 7:30 PM
Where: Rogers Arena
Tickets: Starting at $83.65 with tax, get them here

Head to Burning Man with Dierks Bentley

Do you really think Dierks Bentley did ayahuasca in the desert or is the name just a coincidence? Your guess is as good as ours, but boy would it be fun to think that the former option is true. Oh, and he’s one of the biggest names in country music. Sorry, we got off topic there for a second.

When: Tuesday, January 29, doors at 7 PM
Where: Rogers Arena
Tickets: Starting at $51.30 with tax, get them here

Check out the Museum of Vancouver

There are two days this week where the Museum of Vancouver has deals. Tuesday is seniors day, where admission is only $5. The better deal though is on Thursday when admission is by donation between 5PM-8PM for all.

When: Thursday, January 31, 5PM-8PM
Where: Museum of Vancouver
Cost: Admission by donation!

Eat at the inaugural Spring Festival Gala

Hosted at Parq by Vancouver’s best Chinese restaurant, Peaceful, this spring gala is sure to be memorable. Funding raised is going to support the BC Children’s Hospital’s Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children Enhancement Initiative. the evening will feature culinary creations that are most definitely off the menu at Peaceful, food carving demonstrations, live dance, and musical performances and a live auction.

When: Monday, January 28, 6PM-10PM
Where: Parq Vancouver
Tickets: $300 plus tax, get them here

That’s it for this week Vancouver! Hope you enjoy it!
